Специфіка діяльності бек-вокаліста в контексті сучасної естрадної музики

Abstract

У статті розглянуто значення бек-вокалу в естрадній музиці. Проаналізовано вплив технологій звукозапису на розвиток та популяризацію поп-музики. Визначено основні компоненти твору, який відповідає запитам музичної індустрії та широкого загалу – наявність музичного матеріалу з вдалим аранжуванням, високий рівень виконавської майстерності і гарної якості студійний запис. Виділено вимоги, до бек-вокаліста – розвинений гармонічний слух, здатність добре читати нотний текст із листа, підлаштовуватися до манери, що обрав головний вокаліст, стильового напрямку, тобто володіти якостями, що будуть свідчити про універсальність виконавця.

Рассмотрено значение бэк-вокала в эстрадной музыке. Проанализировано влияние технологий звукозаписи на развитие и популяризацию поп-музыки. Определены основные компоненты произведения, отвечающего запросам музыкальной индустрии и широкой общественности – наличие музыкального материала с удачной аранжировкой, высокий уровень исполнительского мастерства и хорошего качества студийная запись. Выделены требования к бэк-вокалисту – развитый гармонический слух, способность хорошо читать нотный текст с листа, подстраиваться к выбранной главным вокалистом манере, стилевому направлению, то есть обладать качествами, которые будут свидетельствовать об универсальности исполнителя.

Nowadays pop music is a leading area of modern music culture. The most popular and widespread is vocal-instrumental pop music. Bend leaders and vocalists attract the attention of the general public, becoming youth idols and a model to follow the next generation of singers. However, the activities of other performers of pop performers are often left out of the attention of the public and the general public. Most compositions of pop singers are accompanied by singing backing vocalists, which provides songs of a complete, holistic, balanced form. However, the activities of backing vocalists, requirements related to their performance practice, different from those put forward by soloists, did not find a reason for scientific literature in art studies. The separation of the aspects of preparation for the professional activity of backing vocalists will help to understand the aspects of the preparation of singers, which should pay attention. Despite the fact that the content of songs that relate to pop music, mainly focused on the discovery of lyrical themes, there are a number of features that are inherent in a musical product that claims to be widespread in contemporary culture. This is an interesting and relevant time arrangement, a high technical level of sound quality, scenic brightness. The current development of musical technologies can help to create backing vocal without involving other vocalists, using different sessions of one main vocalist. In the case of performing a song accompanying a phonogram that reproduces all the lines except the vocals, a similar option is possible. A significant number of modern compositions can move on the Internet, where a melody, and a counterpoint, and harmonious voices can sing one vocalist. Similar versions are usually associated with a studio record or even with a recording in personal mini-studios. However, in the case of live performances, it is necessary to participate not only the soloist, but also the vocal support of one or more vocalists. Backing vocalist’s activity is not always connected with stage performances. A versatile and competent singer can find work in recording studios, whose work will be to add backing vocal to groups and performers who create their repertoire in it. When recording certain tracks, there may be problems in their arrangement, harmonization of the melodic line, which will require rapid changes, respectively, the vocalist who can quickly grab and correctly reproduce the high quality musical material will be extremely appreciated. Only vocal skill is not enough to create a beautiful studio sample. There are a number of works that justify the technical aspects associated with the processing and creation of backing vocals in the studio space. For modern pop music, there is a considerable interest in the creation of high-quality technical content of musical material and attention to the details of the texture. Singers performing this function must have developed harmonious rumors, have the ability to read the musical notes well, adapt well to the style chosen by the lead singer, and reproduce the timbre neutrality, which testifies to the versatility of the performer. Such requirements require careful preparation, which will manifest itself in the successful professional activity of the vocalist.
