Наративне роздвоєння як етичне випробування у романі Девіда Мітчелла "Лужок Чорного лебедя"

Abstract

У статті проаналізовані наративні та рецептивні аспекти роману Д. Мітчелла «Лужок Чорного лебедя» (2006). На основі теорії метанаративів Ж.-Ф. Ліотара простежено процес легітимації метанарацій на прикладі свідомості головного персонажа роману - тринадцятирічного Джейсона Тейлора. Естетичний ефект у романі зумовлений тим, що читач, ототожнюючись із гомодієгетичним наратором, займає позицію героя із обмеженим полем зору та зумовленою цим невпевненістю у майбутньому.

In the article we analyze aspects of narrative and reception in the novel by David Mitchell "Black Swan Green" (2006). Based on the metanarrative theory by Jean-Francois Lyotard we observe the legitimating process of metanarrative in the consciousness of Jason Tailor, 13 years old main character. The esthetic effect in the novel is conditioned with the fact that the reader identifying himself with the homodiegetic narrator takes the position of the character with his restricted point of view.
