Острозька академія як центр розвитку культури та освіти на українських землях наприкінці XVI – початку XVII ст.

Abstract

У роботі досліджено процес становлення Острозької академії як центру розвитку культури на українських земелях. Проаналізовано передумови заснування Академії, визначено роль князя Василя-Костянтина Острозького як засновника цього центру. Особливу увагу відведено впливу, який здійснила Острозька академія на формування православної інтелектуальної еліти. У роботі також розглянуто історичне значення Острозької академії в українській культурі другої половини XVI – першої половини XVII ст., проаналізовано причини занепаду цього закладу освіти та припинення його існування. Досліджено також методичний потенціал цієї теми в шкільному курсі історії України.

The work examines the process of the formation of the Ostroh Academy as a center for the development of culture on the territory of Ukrainian lands. The prerequisites for the founding of the Academy are analyzed, the role of prince Konstanty Wasyl Ostrogski as the founder of this center is determined. Special attention is paid to the influence that the Ostroh academy had on the formation of the Orthodox intellectual elite. The work also examines the historical significance of the Ostroh Academy in Ukrainian culture of the second half of the 16th – first half of the 17th centuries, the reasons for the decline of this educational institution and the cessation of its existence are analyzed. The methodological potential of this topic in the school history course of Ukraine was also investigated.
