| Abstract: | The article deals with the outstanding Ukrainian sports figure Ivan Pіddubny, who is one of the main figures in scientific activity, since the study of the activities of athletes of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries is of great importance. The author analyzes and summarizes the above-mentioned issues, his sports achievements and awards that he received during his life. He also focuses on prestigious sports competitions dedicated to the figure of this athlete, which are held in Ukraine today. The results show that Pіddubny's sports achievements and the unique title of «Champion of Champions» awarded to him influenced the further development of wrestling. |
