Abstract

The article offers a description of the outcrop of the contact of red-colored Devonian deposits and basal conglomerates of problematic age on the outskirts of the Nahiriany village. The lithological composition of the rocks was studied and the paleogeographic conditions of their formation were analyzed. Emphasis is placed on oblique relief in Devonian sandstones. The hypothesis about the Albian age of the mentioned basal conglomerates is substantiated. This hypothesis needs additional confirmation during field studies of faunal material. It is proposed to include the studied outcrop in the list of geological monuments of local importance.
