| Abstract: | The article is devoted to problematic approaches to the perception of the idea of united Europe as space. It outlines the basic approaches of modern understanding of European unity. A historical and geographical excursus of the unification process has been made. The importance of unifying tendencies for the countries of the European space to preserve the features of national identity and authenticity is emphasized. |
