| Abstract: | The article deals with the analysis of various groups of borrowings and their role in the Ukrainian wordstock. The author opposes language and conceptual representations of the world, which are basedon the differences between meaning and concept. The place of the borrowings from Germanic and Romanic — languages, which belong to the semantic field “Man", has been investigated. Much attention ispaid to semantic structure of borrowings and their stylistic peculiarities. |
