Творчість Т. Шевченка у драгоманівській програмі «нового виду» українства

Abstract

У статті розглянуто літературно-естетичну концепцію Драгоманова кінця 70-х – 80-х рр. ХІХ ст. крізь призму прочитання українськими культурними діячами його засадничої праці «Шевченко, українофіли й соціалізм». Простежено полемічний дискурс, який увиразнює тогочасну рецепцію програми Драгоманова «нового виду» українства. З’ясовано своєрідність його поглядів на творчість Шевченка, що стала вагомою складовою цієї програми і загалом драгоманівської історіософської концепції. Підсумовано, що відокремлення національних мотивів від політичних у названій праці призвело до надто вузького розуміння національного значення творів Шевченка. З’ясовано актуальність Франкових висловів стосовно значення трактату Драгоманова для розвитку українського шевченкознавства після драгоманівського періоду.

The article deals with Drahomanov’s literary and aesthetic concept of the end of 70s-80s of the XIX century through the prism of reading of his fundamental work “Shevchenko, Ukrainophiles and socialism” by Ukrainian cultural figures. The polemic discourse has been traced which underlines the that time reception of Drahomanov’s program of “new type” of Ukrainian identity. It is elucidated the peculiarity of his views on T. Shevchenko’s creative work that has become the significant component of this program and Drahomanov’shistoriosophic concept in general. It has been summarized that the separation of national motives from the political ones in the mentioned work caused too narrow understanding of national importance of Shevchenko’s works, although Drahomanov was the first who brilliantly indicated its equilibration of spiritual, moral and social beginning in poet’s works. It has been ascertained the actuality of Franko’s expressions as to the importance of Drahomanov’s treatise for the development of Ukrainian Shevchenko studies of Post-Drahomanian period.
