Початки театральної шевченкіани в Галичині (друга половина ХІХ–початок ХХ століття)

Abstract

У статті узагальнено науковий матеріал з досліджуваної теми, введено до наукового обігу нові архівні джерела, матеріали місцевої періодики. Досліджено процес зародження театральної шевченкіани в Галичині, який охоплює період від перших публічних прочитань поезій Т. Шевченка до регулярних постановок його творів на сценах професійних і аматорських театрів. Визначено основні різновиди художнього втілення шевченківських творів.

В статье обобщен научный материал по исследуемой теме, введены в научный оборот новые архивные источники, материалы местной периодики. Исследован процесс зарождения театральной шевченкианы в Галичине, который охватывает период от первых публичных чтений стихов Т. Шевченка к регулярным постановкам его произведений на сценах профессиональных и любительских театров. Определено основные разновидности художественного воплощения шевченковских произведений.

The article summarizes the scientific matter on the studied subject, examines the origination of the Theatrical Shevchenkiana in Galicia at the end of 19th century at the beginning of the 20th century, and it also introduces the new archival sources and local periodicals into scientific circulation. The author states that appearance of T. Shevchenko’s literary works in Galicia initiated the Ukrainian self-consciousness among inhabitants of Galicia. This process was inseparably associated with the powerful cult of Kobzar. The Poet’s literary works were actively spread in the publications and at the annual public readings in the honor of T. Shevchenko’s personality. The repertoire of readers-declaimers included the Poet's works which were covering the history of heroic Ukrainian people, making an appeal to the audience for fighting for social and national liberation, imbuing the minds of Ukrainian people (living under the rule of Austro-Hungarian Empire in Galicia) with the national consciousness. Moreover, the public declamation of Shevchenko’s poems promoted their mass propagation and possible introduction to those people, who could not afford to acquire published works or their manuscript copies. At the same time, the author focuses our attention on the fact that later these practices were successfully adopted by Galicia theatre. The ideas of Great Kobzar were actively promoted by staging his works. Therefore, there is a reason to believe that traditions as to the public declamations of Shevchenko’s poems, which were an integral part of the musical and declamation evenings, became a solid basis for further formation of the heatrical Shevchenkiana in Galicia.
