Діяльність „Товариства ім. М. Качковського” в Східній Галичині (друга половина ХІХ – початок ХХ ст.).

Abstract

Диссертация на соискание ученой степени кандидата исторических наук по специальности 07.00.01 – история Украины. – Тернопольский национальный педагогический университет имени Владимира Гнатюка, Тернополь, 2014. В диссертации осуществлено комплексное исследование деятельности „Общества им. М. Качковского” в Восточной Галиции во второй половине XIX – начале ХХ в. Систематизировано и проанализировано историографию и источниковую базу о деятельности институции; исследовано институциональное оформление общества, проанализировано его организационные основы; охарактеризировано место „Общества им. М. Качковского” в общественной и политической жизни; установлена роль общества в распространении москвофильских идей сквозь призму издание литературы; освещены основные направления экономической деятельности; оценена деятельность общества в культурно-просветительной, экономической и общественной жизни Восточной Галиции.

Систематизовано й проаналізовано історіографію та джерельну базу про діяльність інституції у Східній Галичині; досліджено інституційне оформлення товариства, проаналізовано його організаційні засади; охарактеризовано місце „Товариства ім. М. Качковського” у громадському і політичному житті; визначено роль товариства у поширенні москвофільських ідей крізь призму видання літератури; висвітлено основні напрямки його економічної діяльності; оцінено діяльність товариства в культурно-просвітньому, економічному та суспільному житті Східної Галичини.

The thesis for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences, speciality 07.00.01 – History of Ukraine. – Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk, Ternopil, 2014. The thesis presents a complex investigation study of the activity by „Association named after M. Kachkovsky” in Eastern Galicia in the second part ХІХ – at the begining of ХХ century. The main attention is on the content, forms and areas of this activity. The institutional arrangement of „Association named after M. Kachkovsky” was researched; the various aspects of its cultural and educational activities were analyzed; the contents of the association’s books, which pages demonstrated association’s position to main guestions of economic development and political perspectives, was researched too; the main directions of its economical activity, its importance for the Ukrainian population in Eastern Galicia were light up; its contribution to the promotion of agricultural knowledge was studied; the relationship of the association with the populism and Polish institutions in Eastern Galicia were characterised; the activity of „Association named after M. Kachkovsky” in the cultural and educational, economic and social branches of the public life of Eastern Galicia was appreciated. „Association named after M. Kachkovsky” was founded in order to widen the enlightenment between the broad public. At the earfiest stage of its activity the organization was on positive importance in the history of Eastern Galicia. The association published 120 popular editions on religious and ethics, historical, agricultural and economical themes. The institution founded 31 offices, 1266 readers’houses (including 41 – in the USA and Canada), 56 bookshops, 12 trade committees, which were specialized on practical advices of everyday activity guestions resolvation to the peasantry. Moreover the association helped nising the economical development of Eastern Galicia and widening the cooperative movement. In the whole period of its existence the association was realizing the agricultural production between eastern galicians in total sum over 250000 krons. The association service was in the ukrainians cultural stimulation development and widening it. With the help of teachers and greck-catholic priests, inteligents and students, the institution didn’t only found the readers houses and the libraries, but also promoted the activity of 369 drama studios, 496 chores, 274 theatre groups, 154 sportsections, 59 economic cooperatives. Such cultural and educational work of the association was supported by the society in spite of its political view. The other side, the foundation of „Association named after M. Kachkovsky” confirmed the visible differentiation between moscowsympathetic and ukrainiansympathetic directions. The association, that was founded after the populistic „Prosvita”, became the first „parallel” structure of the Ukrainian movement. Trough 1870 – 1880 s the organizations aspects were organized and the main aims and methods of the association activity were named, they stimulated its successful development in Eastern Galicia. On different stages of its activity the association overlived considerable troubles, including financial difficulties (early XX century), personnel instability problems, often member removals, insufficient job experience, untimely paid fees (over 60000 krons) and so on. It made considerable problems for full creative rhythm to right organization functions. Besides, the members of „The Association named after M. Kachkovsky” were the persons with different political convictions and points of view on the organization place in Eastern Galicia cultural life. The activity of „The Association named after M. Kachkovsky” was closely connected with the history of Ukraine, with the cultural and enlightening life of Eastern Galicia of the investigated period. The experience of its existence has an important sense for Eastern Galicia cultural development of late XIX – early XX centuries.
