Перифрази як засіб відображення світобачення оповідача у романі М. Дочинця «Вічник»

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано особливості вживання перифразів у мові роману М. Дочинця «Вічник». Розповідь у творі ведеться від першої особи, а це сприяє творенню об’єктивних вторинних номінацій. Виділено основні тематичні групи описових зворотів. Зауважено, що частіше перифрази слугують засобом характеристики персонажів та об’єктів природи. Вторинні номінації саме цих двох категорій несуть глибокий філософський зміст та відображають світогляд оповідача.

The aim of our research is an analysis ofperiphrases of the novel ‘‘Vichnyk’’, which describe an outlook of the storyteller and his deep comprehension of the core of the humans’ life. Texts of the modem Ukrainian literature need constant process of study. Analysis ofperiphrases is actual because they are often authors’ creations. The storyteller of the novel is the first person- Andriy Voron. That is why a reader associates all author's reflections with the narrator but not the author. Among the main thematic groups of descriptive constructions we highlight the following: 1) food and drinks names; 2) place names; 3) military names; 4) philosophical, abstract and mythological notions. We note small quantity of the secondary nominations, which denote household items. It is caused by peculiarity of the work in which even everyday things become unusual. For example: home- "the core o f humanity” [2. s. 181]. The most widely spread thematic group of periphrases is "people". An explanation of this fact can be found in the life philosophy of the storyteller: "... there are no enemies and no friends among people, but each small or adult is a teacher, who directs our progress" [2, s. 122-123]. We can differentiate positive ("heaven children”) and negative ("seducers o f women") among the author’s nominations. Some of such descriptions carries a symbolic meaning. Therefore, Chieftain Mykola Shuhai seems to be for the narrator "the lively soul of my people... ” [2, s. 212]. Considerable impact on formulation of the Voron's outlook had monks who thought that all people are "...fragile clay vessels. Sens only in what you are filled with. ” [2, s. 284]. Another big teacher of the storyteller was the Nature, because everything generated by her has its own purpose and rights: "I am only equal among equals, a small crumb of the living world, a point of the innermost secret, a result of the work of the Big Master ” [2, s. 171]. So, the periphrases o f the novel "Vichnyk" are an important display element of the narrator reflections and they serve as a means of creation of the inner world of A. Vorona.
