Історія українського письменства крізь призму національної ідеї Юрія Косача в есе «На варті нації»

Abstract

У статті досліджується структурна та ідейно-естетична специфіка есеїзованої історії української літератури Юрія Косача «На варті нації». Акцентовано увагу на жанрових особливостях твору, що дозволило цілісно підійти до особливостей концептуалістики праці. Розглянуто основні принципи моделювання тексту, що реалізуються через підкреслено особистісну позицію автора, вільну композицію, непередбачуваність розвитку авторської розповіді, відкриту демонстрацію нестандартного мислення із стилістичними особливостями, образною символікою, афористичністю, авторським «я», що виразно проявлене на усіх рівнях тексту.

An important link in the history of Ukrainian essayism, but not yet noted by researchers, remains the literary-critical heritage of Yuriy Kosach with a pronounced essayistic principle of thinking. As a literary critic and essayist, he declared himself in the early 1930s when his emigrant epic began. In the magazines "Building a Nation" (Prague), "Towards a Meeting" (Lviv), "The Ukrainian Word" (Paris), "Our Call" (.), "A Nation on a Campaign" (Berlin) and "Bulletins of the Polish-Ukrainian" (Warsaw) ) Kosach has published a large number of essay literary studies and nonfiction essays. Among them are works of great scientific value, where the critical and historiographical thought of the writer, being directed at the reproduction of syncretic forms of integrity, came to conceptual completion. His essay On the Worth of the Nation, like other works of this period, vividly demonstrates deep traditionalism, voluntarism, elitism, Occidentalism, the romantic spirit that nourishes his own historiography. The purpose of the article is to find out the structural and ideological-aesthetic specifics of the essay history of Ukrainian literature "At the Nation's Worth" by Yuriy Kosach. It was emphasized that in the essay "On the Guard of the Nation", Yuriy Kosach established a unique picture of the heroic path of Ukrainian writing and recreated it with hitherto disregarded national-spiritual features , offering his sensitive, subjective vision of his history . On the example of the history of Ukrainian literature, the essayist traced the embodiment of the highest ideals of national spirituality and built a continuous line of tradition, actualizing important national problems. But most importantly, he missed it all because of his subjective impressions and aesthetic experiences, making the story his own proposal - alive, understandable and personally meaningful for the reader, finding the appropriate symbolic-metaphorical form of embodiment with numerous parallels and antithesis.
