“Город Салтов рублен дубовой на каменной пошве…”: міста Слобідської України в приказній документації XVII ст.

Abstract

Запропоноване до публікації джерело є типовим документом російського приказного діловодства XVII ст., що, разом з тим, є унікальним джерелом з історії міст Слобідської України. Річна сметна книга міста Салтова 1696 року дає змогу дослідити історію будівництва міських фортифікаційних споруд, соціальну структуру населення міста та повіту, організацію митної справи, землеволодіння та землекористування окремих соціальних груп.

The source proposed for publication is a typical document of Russian mandative document flow of the 17th century. At the same time it serves as a unique source on the history of Sloboda Ukraine cities. The annual budget book of Saltov city in 1696 makes it possible to study the history of urban fortifications construction, social structure of the city and county population, the organization of custom service, landowning and land use of certain social groups, providing salary to «military people». The document contains information on toponymy, anthroponymy of the urban population, family composition and individuals’ occupation. The source allows us to trace colonization stages of the region, the attitude of the government to local voievodal administration, the evolution of local bureaucratic elite.
