Стратегічні завдання і перспективні заходи зі збереження і сталого викоритання геоспадщини природного заповідника «Медобори»

Abstract

The paper presents long-term (for 10 years) strategic tasks with corresponding measures (for 5 years) aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of geopolitical inheritance of the Medobory Nature Reserve. The tasks were developed within the framework of the "Project for organizing the territory of the Medobory Natural Reserve and protecting its natural complexes”. Developing the strategy of conservation and sustainable use of geopolitical heritage involved the use of strategic and operational management approaches, as well as inventory methods and spatial planning methods for valuable geological & geomorphological and hydrological objects. The developed strategic tasks are aimed at conserving inanimate objects, at their educational and infrastructural support, and the sustainable use of the geopolitical property. The main events for the Medobory Reserve in the next 5 years include inventory (cataloging) of outcrops & reef rock formations and geological outcrops of the Paleozoic, justifying thematic geological expositions and geo-tourism paths, as well as organizing general and professional geoeducation. An important part of development is planning to set up the Fossil Barrier Reef National Geopark in the Medobory Nature Reserve and the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park. The Medobory Nature Reserve case offers the first instance of developing long-term and short-term programs for conservation and sustainable use of the geopolitical property (for large-scale protected Ukrainian objects). These tasks will be implemented in the next 10-15 years in accordance with the «Project for organizing the territory».
