Перспективи спеціалізації «Літературний агент» на українському видавничому ринку

Abstract

Представлено профіль редакторської спеціалізації «літературний агент» з метою ширшого впровадження її у видавничу практику України. В контексті активізованого видавничого запиту на переклади діяльність літературних агентів забезпечуватиме процеси реорганізації, структурування і буде запорукою якісної збалансованості асортименту видань на українському галузевому ринку.

Представлен профиль редакторской специализации «литературный агент» с целью более широкого внедрения её в издательскую практику Украины. В контексте усилившегося издательского запроса на переводы деятельность литературных агентов будет обеспечивать процессы реорганизации, структурирования и являться залогом качественной сбалансированности ассортимента изданий на украинском отраслевом рынке.

A profile of editorial specialization «literary agent» is presented in order to broaden its implementation into the publishing practice of Ukraine. In the context of our translation`s activation for publishing, the activities of the literary agents will now ensure the processes of reorganization, structuring and are the key to the qualitative balance of the assortment on the Ukrainian publications market. In the practice`s review of literary and legal representation of participants in the editorial and publishing process, which are continuing in different civilizational and cultural regions of the world, the basic parameters, principles of activity and main qualification varieties of the literary agent`s specialty are outlined. The author-translator / publisher-editor is urgently needed to update the standards for civilized Ukraine`s publishing practices in order to optimally regulate relations. In this connection, in particular, the distinction between publishing strategies in different types of cultures and the difference in the tactics of literary agents in the basic organization`s levels of editorial and publishing processes are shown. In particular, it has been demonstrated how professional activities depend on the involvement of the literary agent in the development of decisions made by pub-lishers and authors on specific publishing projects. The universal basic requirements for literary agents, their differences from literary lawyers are specified, the safe choice`s rules of those and others in the countries with a stable humanitarian culture are specified. The connection of pragmatics with the ethical and professional integrity of literary agents is empha-sized: they are not inclined to fill the price of the author-graphomaniac`s inappropriate content, since the own revenues of the literary agents directly depend on the profitability created by their promotion of the publishing product. If suddenly the literary agents are sincerely mistaken at the expense of his positive characteristics, the same principles of their professional activities include the carrying out of expert assessments and the market value`s definition of the author's editions in «auctions of manuscripts» – these are measures of publishing insurance against miscalculations.
