Засади європоцентризму в українській історіографії другої половини ХІХ – початку ХХ ст.

Abstract

У статті досліджується процес утвердження європоцентричного світогляду в середовищі українських істориків другої половини ХІХ – початку ХХ століть. З’ясовано інтелектуальні джерела, соціальні передумови, специфіку проникнення європоцентричних світоглядних засад в українську історичну думку. Окреслено вплив позитивізму на утвердження європоцентричного світогляду українських істориків. Простежено взаємозв’язок між європоцентричними світоглядними засадами та цивілізаційною ідентичністю українських вчених. Проаналізовано специфіку уявлень про Європу/Захід серед провідних українських істориків. Простежено вплив європоцентричного світогляду на трактування прикладних проблем національної історії.

The article examines the process of consolidation of Europocentristic worldview amidst Ukrainian historians of the second half of the 19th century – the beginning of the 20th century. It has been ascertained the intellectual sources, social premises, specificity of penetration of Europocentristic ideological principles into Ukrainian historical thought. It has been outlined the impact of positivism on strengthening of Europocentristic worldview of Ukrainian historians. It has been traced the interconnection between Europocentristic ideological principles and civilizational identity of Ukrainian scientists. The article analyses the specificity of perceptions of Europe / West among the leading Ukrainian historians. It has been traced the influence of Europocentristic worldview on the interpretation of applied issues of national history.
