The Formation and functioning of semantic neologisms in the sphere of internet communication

Abstract

Neologisms stand for innovation in every language. New words are created every day and their number in English is growing fast, especially in Internet communicationThe article focuses on the means of language enrichment and formation of lexico-semantic innovations within worldwide computer network. The causes of changes in the lexical meaning of generative words are determined. The main types of semantic neologisms wordformation and peculiarities of their functioning are analysed.
