Літературознавчий дискурс Богдана Лепкого та Карла Еміля Францоза

Abstract

У статті розглядаються літературознавчі студії відомого українського поета та письменника Богдана Нестора Лепкого та німецькомовного письменника Австро-Угорської доби Карла Еміля Францоза з історії української літератури. Підкреслюється спільність підходів у висвітленні окремих аспектів літературної спадщини українського народу, зокрема в осмисленні значущості, естетичної вартості усної народнопоетичної словесності, пісенної спадщини та творчості Тараса Шевченка. Зазначається, що письменницький і перекладацький досвід Лепкого та Францоза розширив їх можливості рецепції, аналізу та інтерпретації літературних явищ і знайшов своє вираження в особливій емоційній манері викладу, зорієнтованого на масового читача в Україні та Німеччині.

The article deals with literary studios from the history of Ukrainian literature of the famous Ukrainian poet and writer Bohdan Nestor Lepkyy and German-speaking writer of the Austro-Hungarian age Karl Emil Franzos. It is emphasized the commonality of approaches in highlighting of certain aspects of the literary heritage of the Ukrainian people, in particular, in understanding the significance and aesthetic value of oral folk poetic literature, the song heritage and works of Taras Shevchenko. Both literary scholars note the originality, richness and genre diversity of samples of the Ukrainian epic, starting with Kyevan Rus, and admire the depth and aesthetic perfection of Shevchenko’s works. It is noted that the writing and translating experience of Lepkyy and Franzos has expanded their possibilities of reception, analysis and interpretation of literary phenomena, and has found expression in a special emotional manner of a presentation, oriented to the mass reader in Ukraine and Germany. The German-language works of Franzos in Ukrainian literature introduced the Western reader with its achievements and, as a result, contributed to its popularization in the German-speaking area in the late XIX – early XX century.
