Ukraine’s leading nationwide TV channels joined together to inform citizens about events in the country—24/7—around the clock. However, despite the apparent advantages of such a phenomenon, the United Telethon has also been a subject of criticism due to non compliance with journalistic standards and engagement. In our article, we analyzed the content of the telethon during the most significant events that took place in the Autumn of 2022. For the study, we chose separate slots for all the Ukrainian TV channels involved in the production of the television marathon. The subject of the study concerned the approaches to inviting guests to the audio visual recording studios of the channels, the indicators (in percentage ratio) regarding specific categories of guests, the tendency of invitations to the guest studios of speakers from political parties, state organizations, and independent experts. The next stage was the analysis of the uniqueness and importance of the information broadcast on the telethon air. To find out how often Ukrainian media refer to information from the telethon as a primary source, we conducted a content analysis of Ukrainian online media regarding the sources of information they refer to in their materials. Автор відзначає актуальність пробле- матики, оскільки українські народні пісні є неоціненним здобутком нації, в яких закодовано цінну історичну інформацію про події різних епох та ставлення народу до них. Особливу увагу приділено концептуалізації смислів воєнної тематики часів Київської Русі, доби козацтва та нового періоду, які мають свою специфіку. У дослідженні простежено, що воєнна тематика в українських народних піснях втілена завдяки використанню відповідних лексем, фразеологізмів, метафор, демінутивних утворень, дискурсивних маркерів тощо. Автор висвітлює трактування дефініції «концепт» у фольклористиці та його значення з позиції науковців Л. Снігирьової, Ю. Собори, К. Трачук та інших. Вербалізацію концепту «війна» висвітлювали В. Верьовкін, Ю. Плетенецька. Наголошено, що концепт війни часто має символічний характер і передається у відповідних образах, символах. Вкрай важливим є дослідження концептуальних смислів воєнної тематики в українських народних пісень у ретроспективі, оскільки по-різному висвітлюються образи воїна-захисника, ворога, специфічні асоціативні образи хмари (чорна хмара, що символізує наступ), ріки (кровопролиття), шаблі (сонячний промінь), жінки як уособлення туги та болю втрати. Усвідомлення концептуальних смислів дозволяє збагнути унікальність національного світогляду, мовних засобів та культурних кодів українського народу. Водночас українські народні пісні через концептуальні смисли війни сприяють етнічній єдності, мобілізації сил у боротьбі та захисті. Український фольклор містить не просто відомості про історичні події окремого періоду, а кодує інформацію про суспільні настрої, ставлення народу до тих чи інших воєнних дій. Українські народні пісні воєнної тематики акумулюють колективну пам’ять, героїзм, незламність та невгамовний біль втрат і плати за свою свободу. Практична цінність роботи полягає у виокремленні символічних образів та значень воєнної тематики, відображених в українських народних піснях, як важливої складової фольклору. Результати дослідження концеп- туальних смислів воєнної тематики в українській етнокультурі можна використати на уроках української мови та літератури, історії України, в позакласній роботі для виховання патріотизму, розширення світогляду та осмислення ключових подій, які відіграли важливу роль у становленні державності та збереженні національної ідентичності.; The article is devoted to the study of the features of the reflection of conceptual meanings of military themes in Ukrainian folk songs in different historical periods. The author notes the relevance of the issue, since Ukrainian folk songs are an invaluable achievement of the nation, which encode valuable historical information about the events of different eras and the people's attitude to them. Special attention is paid to the conceptualization of the meanings of military themes of the times of Kievan Rus, the era of the Cossacks and the new period, which have their own specifics. The study shows that military themes in Ukrainian folk songs are embodied through the use of appropriate lexemes, phraseological units, metaphors, diminutive formations, discursive markers, etc. The author highlights the interpretation of the definition of "concept" in folklore studies and its meaning from the position of scientists L. Snigirova, Yu. Sobora, K. Trachuk and others. The verbalization of the concept of "war" was highlighted by V. Veriovkin, Yu. Pletenetska. It was emphasized that the concept of war often has a symbolic nature and is transmitted in the corresponding images, symbols. It is extremely important to study the conceptual meanings of the war theme in Ukrainian folk songs in retrospect, since the images of the warrior-defender, the enemy, the specific associative images of the cloud (black cloud, symbolizing the attack), the river (bloodshed), the saber (sunbeam), the woman as the personification of longing and the pain of loss are highlighted in different ways. Awareness of conceptual meanings allows us to understand the uniqueness of the national worldview, linguistic means and cultural codes of the Ukrainian people. At the same time, Ukrainian folk songs, through the conceptual meanings of war, contribute to ethnic unity, mobilization of forces in struggle and defense. Ukrainian folklore contains not only information about historical events of a particular period, but also encodes information about public sentiments, the attitude of the people to certain military actions. Ukrainian folk songs on war themes accumulate collective memory, heroism, indomitability and the insatiable pain of losses and the price for their freedom. The practical value of the work lies in the isolation of symbolic images and meanings of war themes, reflected in Ukrainian folk songs, as an important component of folklore. The results of the study of the conceptual meanings of war themes in Ukrainian ethnoculture can be used in lessons of the Ukrainian language and literature, the history of Ukraine, in extracurricular work to educate patriotism, broaden the worldview and comprehend key events that played an important role in the formation of statehood and the preservation of national identity.
